Si nce the 1970s m any new apli cati ons have ben found for m e . I have be e very important i n municati on,finance and trade I have al so ben put i nto robots and used to make m obil e phones as wel as hel p with medi cal operati ons. I have even been put i nto space rockets and sent to expl ore the Moon and Mars . A nyhow, m y goal is to provi de hum ans with a li fe of hi gh qual ity. I am now trul y fil ed wi th happines that I am a devoted fri end and hel per of the hum an race ! AN DY—TH E AN DRO ID I’m part of an an android football team . About once a year we are alowed to get together to play a game of footbal. I’m as bi g as a hum an . In fact , I look li ke one the fotbal team I’m a striker so I have to be able to run very fast .My puter chips help me to mova and think like a human . For example ,I have l earned to si gnal to m y teamm ates i n puter l anguages to gi ve me the bal l when I am open and have a god shot for a goal. My firat footbal peti ti on was i n N agoya ,Japan several years ago . Last year our team went to Seattl e ,Washington i n the won tsecong pl ace . Personal ly , I thi nk the team that won firsy pl ace cheated . They had developed a new type of program just before the peti ti on. So we need to encourage our program er to im prove our i ntel li gence too. We are determi ned to create an even better system. In a way our programmet is li ke our coach. She programs us with m oves to use i f a new si tati on ari ses. In this way I can make up new moves using my “artifical inteligence “. I would realy like to play against a human team,for I have been programm ed to act just li ke them. Thi s is why I am writing to you from m y hospital bed with two broken l egs and a fragi le head. I di d not wi n anythi ng at the O lym pi c after al l. Flying carpet,please show me a place where there’s some wildlife protection. ” The fl yi ng carpet travel ed so fast that next m inute they were in Zim babwe. Dai sy turned around and found that she was being watched by an elephant. “H ave you e to take my photo?”it asked. In relief Daisy burst into laughter.“Don’t laugh,”said the elephant,“We used to be an endangered speci es. Farm ers hunted us wi thout m ercy. They sai d we destroyed their farms,and m oney from touri sts onl y went to the l arge tour pani es. So the government decided to help. They al lowed touri sts to hunt onl y a certai n number of animals i f they pai d the farm ow the farm ers are happy and our num bers are i ncreasi ng.
