There are more and more opportunities for China to conduct extensive exchanges with the outside world, hence press conferences are held quite frequently. Premier Wen Jiabao has always had a deep interest in Chinese classical poetry which is the essence of the Chinese culture. He often quoted Chinese classical poetry in press conference to express his political views. However, interpreting Chinese classical poetry in press conference is not an easy job. This thesis tries to further analyze poetry interpreting in press conference. Purpose of the thesis In terms of Chinese classical poetry interpreting in press conference, various experts and scholars have had very profound studies from various points of views. Parts of them introduce the basic knowledge of Chinese classical poetry and some of them present to us the preparation work of interpreting Chinese classical poet。
