Lesson 9 A col d wel e 冷遇 On Wednesday eveni ng, we went to the Town Hal . I t was the last day of the year and a large cr owd of peopl e had gathered under the Town Hal clock. It woul d str ike twelve in twenty minutes39。 ti me. Fift en minutes pased and then, at fi ve t o twelve, the clock stopped. The big mi nut e hand did not move.
