Daiasy responded immediately. “I’d like to see some endangered wildlife,”she said.“please take me to a distant land where I can find the animal that gave fur to make this sweater. ”At once the carpet flew away and took her to Tibet. There Daisy saw an antelope looking sad. It said,“We are bei ng kil ed for the wool beneath our stom achs. O ur fur i s bei ng used to m ake sweaters for peopl e li ke you . As a reasult, we are now an endangered species.”At that Daisy cried,“I’m sorry I didn’t know that. I wonder what is being done to help you. Flying carpet,please show me a place where there’s some wildlife protection. ” The fl yi ng carpet travel ed so fast that next mi nute they were in Zimbabwe. Daisy turned around and found that she was being watched by an elephant. “H ave you e to take my photo?”it asked. In relief Daisy burst into laughter.“Don’t laugh,”said the elephant,“We used to be an endangered species. Farmers hunted us without mercy. They sai d we destroyed thei r farms, and m oney from touri sts onl y went to the l arge tour pani es. So the governm ent deci ded to hel p. They al owed tourists to hunt onl y a certai n number of anim al s i f they pai d the farm ers. N ow the farm ers are happy and our numbers are increasing. So good things are being done here to save local wildlife. ” Daisy smiled. “That’s good news. It shows the importance of wildlife protection,but I’d like to help as the WWF suggests. ”The carpet Rose agai nst and alm ost at once they were i n a thick rai nforest. A m onkey Watched them as it rubbed itself. “What are you doing?”asked Daisy. “I’m protecting myself from mosquitoes,”it replied.“When I fi nd a mi li pede i nsect, I rub it over m y contai ns a powerful drug whi ch afect m osquitoes. You shoul d pay m ore atention to the rai nforest where I l i ve and appreci ate how the animals live rainforest,no animals,no drugs.” Daisy was amazed. “Flying carpet, please take m e hom e so I can tel l WWF and we can begi n produci ng this new drug. Monkey,please e and help,”The monkey agreed. The carpet flew home. As they landed,things begin to disapear. Two m i nutes l ater everythi ng had gonethe m onkey, too. So Dai sy was not abl e to m ake her new drug. The m ost fam ous of these anim al s are dinosaurs. They li ved on the earth tens mi l ion of years ago,l ong before hum ans cam e i nto being and thei r future seem ed secure at that ti m e. There were m any di fferent ki nds of di nosaur and a num ber of them used to li ve i n chi na. The eggs of twentyfive speci es have been found in Xi xi a County,N anyang,H enan provi nce. N ot l ong ago a rare new speci es of bi rdli ke di nosaur was di scovered i n Country, li aoni ng Provi nce. When sci enti sts i nspected the bones, they were surpri sed to find that these di nosaurs coul d not onl y run l ike the others but al so clim b trees. They l earned thi s from the way the bones were joi ned together. Di nosaurs di ed out suddenl y about 65mi l i on years ago. Som e sci entists thi nk it cam e after an unexpected i nci dent when a huge rock from space hit the earth and put too much dust i nto the ai thers thi nk the earth got to hot for the di nosaurs to l ive on any more. First i t was stored i n tubes, then on transi stors and l ater on very sm al l chips. As a resul tI total l y changed m y shape . As I have grown ol der I have al so grown sm al er .O ver tim e m y m emoryhas devel oped so m uch that , li ke an el ephant, I never frt anythi ng I have been tol d !And m y m em ory becam e so large that even I couldn’t believe it!But I was always so lonely standing there by myself,until in the 1960s they gave me a fami l y connected by a work . Iwas abl e to share m y knowl edge wi th others through the Worl d Wi de Web. Si nce the 1970s many new appl ications have ben found for m e . I have be e very im portant i n muni cati on, finance and trade I have al so been put i nto robots and used to m ake m obi l e phones as wel l as hel p with m edi cal have even been put i nto space rockets and sent to explore the Moon and Mars . A nyhow, m y goal i s to provi de humans wi th a li fe of hi gh quali ty. I am now trul y fil l ed with hapi ness that I am a devoted fri end and hel per of the human race !
