able to report for duty, the associate must notify his/her Department Head immediate ly and notify the Human Resources Department through the Personnel Action Form. 5. Overtime Overtime is defined as having to stay behind to work one or more hours beyond scheduled work hours or work on a scheduled day off. Overtime must be authorized by the Department Head before it occurs. Compensatory timeoff will be granted to overtime work for associates on level 4 and below and must be claimed within six months. The hotel has no responsibility for claims made thereafter. Overtime pensation shall only pertain to associates and supervisors with Department Head and Human Resources approval. 6. Pay Arrangement Salary and allowances are paid in arrears, through autobanking system at the beginning of each month. The payment includes ine tax and the hotel will deduct the ine tax from the payment for every associate according to the Government Tax Bureau rules amp。 regulations. 7. Bonus Bonus paid will be at the absolute discretion of the hotel. 8. Duty Meal Associates are entitled to two free duty meals on each working day in the associates’ cafeteria or designated places. Associates are not allowed to have their meals at any other places within the hotel. Special permission from the General Manager is needed for any exceptional case. 9. Performance Appraisals Associates have to undergo a minimum of one performance appraisal every year besides probation, promotion and transfer appraisals during which associates will be guided by hotel Management’s expectation of them and advised of their work performance, points of improvement as well as career development. 10. Promotion It is a policy of the hotel to promote from within any suitable personnel to higher positions whenever possible. Promotion from within the anization is based on work performance. Promotion associates will undergo probation and will normally not be considered during the initial probationary period. At Sheraton, little things mean a lot 8 11. Transfer The hotel reserves the right to transfer an associate to another department according to operational requirements. If an associate wishes to apply for a transfer, he/she must first obtain written approval from his/her Department Head, using the internal application form who will then bring it to the attention of the Human Resources Department for advice and followup action. 12. Resignation During the probation period, an associate may resign by giving seven days notice or payment in lieu of notice. After confirmation of employment, one month’s notice period or payment in lieu is required. Under all circumstances, associates should obtain approval in writing from the Department Head and the Human Resources Department before they stop ing to work. Otherwise the absenteeism might result in formal dismissal by the hotel. 13. Dismissal An associate who acts against the hotel rules after final warning, or whose work behavior is among the list of behavior that leads to summary dismissal, may be terminated by the hotel without pensation. For details, please refer to Summary Dismissal in SECTION 5 of this handbook. SECTION 3 WELFARE amp。 BENEFITS 1. Public Holiday Associates are entitled to all public holidays as stipulated by the national law. Compensation for worked public holidays must be claimed within six months. The hotel has no responsibility for claims made thereafter. 2. Annual leave Upon pletion of one full year’s service, each regular associate is entitled to have an annual leave of (a) 8 working days with Pay for Level 1 to 4. (b) 10 working days with Pay for Level 5 and above. Associates should apply for annual leave at least 15 days ahead and the respective Department Heads will decide based on business demands. Annual leave can not be accumulated without the General Manager’s approval. In addition, the annual leave should not be divided more than two times. 3. Marriage leave At Sheraton, little things mean a lot 9 Regular associates who have reached legal age will be entitled to 3 days paid marriage leave granted by the hotel. Any associate who has reached the age of 25 (male) and 23 (female) will be entitled to 10 days marriage leave. 4. Maternity leave amp。 Paternity leave Serving the hotel over 12 months entitles, regular female associates to have paid maternity leave as per . rules amp。 regulations as well as the paternity leave to the related regular male associate. 5. Compassionate Leave Regular associates will be granted 3 days paid leave in one time when an immediate relative (defined as spouse, child, sister or brother and parents/parents in law) passes away. Compassionate leave should be substantiated by official certification. Associates should immediately notify the Human Resources Department in case of a family bereavement. 6. Sick leave Each regular associate is entitled to 1 day of paid sick leave per month with medical certificate. No accumulation is allowed to the following month. Medical certificates should be issued by the hospital doctor and submitted to Human Resources Department. 7. Private leave Private leave will be discouraged, but special circumstances will be considered. Written approval should be obtained from the Department Head before taking the private leave. However, the salary will be deducted accordingly. 8. Injury At Work amp。 Health Care Any injury sustained while working on the premises must be reported to the Safety amp。 Security Manager immediately and the injured associate should be examined by the Hotel’s Clinic or the Designated Shenyang Hospital. 9.
