Dear + first name: Dear Ruth Dear + full name: Dear Ruth Bailey Dear + social title + last name: Dear Mr. Bailey Dear + job title: Dear Dentist, Dear Customer Service Manager Dear + Sir or Madam 2) The plimentary close serves the purpose as “goodbye”, which varies according to the relationship between the writer and recipient. 3) Signatures rarely include social title, but they may be typed on the name line. Nonparallel salutation and signature can be insulting and offputting. If you write “Dear Fred” and the sigh it “director Ruth Bailey,” you have assumed a superior position。 writing it the other way around presumes an intimacy that may not exist. 3. Body of the letter The main body of a business letter has three parts(not three paragraphs only):  Opening: the introductory paragraph.  Focus: central core  Closing: concluding paragraph.
